Manual QA Engineer in the Oil & Gas Industry

You will be joining a team of 100 engineers, spanning across Frontend, Backend, SRE, and QA. Our development teams are composed of engineers, designers, product managers, operations and finance, all dedicated to achieving the same goals in a specific domain.

Our client is a company that specializes in real-time data and analytics for the oil & gas industry. The product is a platform with a rich web UI for collecting, visualizing, analyzing, and making sense of data from drilling rigs to help oilfield companies optimize their operations and ensure safety. The platform is modeled as a cloud app store, providing enormous flexibility. It is actively evolving and does not contain legacy code or outdated technologies. The company is now looking for a Manual QA Engineer to join the team.

Technology Stack:

Front-end: JavaScript ES6+, React, Redux, Immutable.js, Nightwatch.js, Material UI, Highcharts.js, HTML5, CSS3, PostCSS, Autoprefixer, Webpack, Babel
Back-end: Ruby; Node.js; AWS; Kafka; MongoDB; PostgreSQL

Responsibilities
– Verify and commit to overall product quality
– Drive exploratory testing, author test plans and test cases for the product
– Be a part of the delivery team, working closely with development/design/product stakeholders to coordinate efforts
– Gather QA/test metrics and report for the delivery team
– Analyze and process product requirements
– Handle defects intake, triage, and verification
– Introduce QA best practices and share them with the team
– Work with distributed teams across different time zones

Requirements
– Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in engineering or computer science
– Extensive knowledge of agile software development
– Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a QA engineer
– In-depth knowledge of QAQC processes
– Experience creating test documentation (test plans, test cases, release notes) and working with requirements
– Understanding of CI and code version control concepts
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
– Ability to work well with distributed teams effectively
